TheFork Gift Card

TheFork Gift Cards are managed only in TheFork app on your smartphone. You add the code to your account, then spend the balance with TheFork PAY when you pay your bill at a participating restaurant.

Adding the gift card to your account:

1. Open TheFork app on your mobile device and sign in to your account.
2. Tap Profile (bottom right).
3. Tap Gift Card.
4. Under My Gift Cards, tap Add Gift Card.
5. Enter the 12-digit alphanumeric code of your gift card. The number zero (0) and the letter O look similar, so try both if the code is not accepted.
6. Tap Add (top right).

Paying with it at the restaurant:

1. In TheFork app, book a restaurant that accepts TheFork PAY. On the app homepage you can add the filter Payment method: TheFork PAY to find them.
2. During your meal, open the app: your active booking appears on the homepage, or tap Bookings and select it.
3. Tap PAY WITH THEFORK PAY, or ADD PAYMENT METHOD if you have not set one up yet.
4. Enter the amount you want to pay, choose your gift card as the payment method, and confirm. You can also choose whether to leave a tip.
5. You get a confirmation by email, and every payment stays available in the TheFork PAY section of the app.

You can use up to five gift cards in the same transaction. If the bill is higher than your balance, you can cover the rest in the same TheFork PAY transaction with another payment method, or pay the difference directly at the restaurant.

The remaining balance stays on the gift card, so you can use it as many times as you like until the balance is used up. A gift card can only be linked to one TheFork account, and once added it stays on that account.

TheFork PAY works only in TheFork app on a smartphone, not on a computer, and it is available from your meal start time until five hours later. It covers your final bill and cannot be used to prepay. Gift cards are valid only in the market where they were bought, so this one is for restaurants in the Netherlands.

• Multiple visits: Put the balance towards a single dinner or spread it across several reservations until it runs out.
• Larger bills: If the balance falls short of the total, pay the difference with a card registered in TheFork PAY.

You can use it to pay for meals, food and drink, at TheFork partner restaurants in the Netherlands. The gift card code has to be added to your TheFork account before you can pay with it.

You can still pay with the gift card and cover the difference yourself, using a credit card registered in TheFork PAY or another payment method.

No. TheFork Gift Cards are market specific and only work in the country they were bought for, so a Netherlands gift card can only be used at participating restaurants in the Netherlands.
