McDonald's Gift Card

Since the other reviewers McDonalds have updated the gift card system. Self checkout or drive trough now take qr codes for gift cards. Simply use a qrcode generator online with free text.

Works perfect! Give the card nr to the cashier and let her/he type in it in the machine and it's done!

As someone else said, its not working in Sweden. The bar scan not working. If the code will work it will require extremely much work for the worker. And ther computer might give up will up while entering the code... Wow.

Technically this voucher works, but there are just too many hoops to jump through to use it. 1. First of all, the teller machines at McDonalds cannot scan the barcode. Not only that, but it seems like their teller machine FREEZES after scanning the voucher. I have tried this at multiple McDonalds and with multiple vouchers. This is a real issue and it means that probably nobody has tested this thoroughly. To be honest, it seems like their teller machine is doing a synchronous lookup for the voucher code that freezes the terminal for 10 seconds. 2. If you ask the teller to enter the voucher number manually, it is possible to make this work. However, this is difficult for them and the manager usually needs to get involved. 3. Vouchers are not integrated into the McDonald's app. Whether this is on purpose or part of their extremely low programming competency is unclear to me, but using the voucher while doing an online order would be the most natural way to use the voucher, but that doesn't work. All in all, this seems like a half-baked integration from McDonald's side. It's a disaster compared to most other integrations I've seen.
