The Swype Prepaid Mastercard offers a seamless and flexible way to shop anywhere Mastercard is accepted. Available in open denominations, it can be used online, in-store via digital wallets, over the phone, or through mail order.

  • Shopping made simple: Use your Swype Prepaid Mastercard® online, in-store with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay or even by phone or mail order. Wherever Mastercard is accepted, Swype has you covered.
  • Shop Online:
    • Simply enter your card details at checkout.
  • In-Store Purchases:
    • Add your Swype card to Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay and tap to pay.
  • Phone or Mail Orders:
    • Provide your card information just like any regular payment.

With Swype, you can shop confidently anywhere Mastercard is accepted.

The Swype Mastercard is a single-load card. You choose your amount (from $5 to $500) at purchase, and the card closes once the balance is spent. It cannot be reloaded. However, you can purchase multiple cards and manage them all from a single Swype account.

You can use it anywhere Mastercard is accepted: online, in-store, and internationally. The card works with Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay for contactless payments. All cards are issued in USD. Note: the card cannot be used in sanctioned countries (e.g. Russia, Iran, Cuba, North Korea, and others listed on the product page).

The most common causes are: using a VPN (this triggers fraud protection — disable it before redeeming or paying), trying to use the card in a restricted country, or an expired/zero balance. If you're having trouble activating, make sure you're completing the full sign-up flow on Swype, including email OTP verification.

Your activation link expires after 60 days. Once activated, the card expires after 90 days of inactivity or 3 years from issuance — whichever comes first. The $2.50 monthly maintenance fee continues to apply to your balance even if you're not using the card, so activate and spend sooner rather than later.

    • Europe: Belarus, Russian Federation, Crimea region of Ukraine (disputed territory but geographically in Europe), Donetsk region of Ukraine, Luhansk region of Ukraine
  • Users attempting to obtain or use this card in restricted regions may have their transactions declined or accounts suspended.
  • Transactions involving countries, regions, entities, or individuals subject to sanctions administered or enforced by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) are strictly prohibited under this card program and applicable U.S. sanctions laws.
  • The card issuer reserves the right to block, suspend, terminate, or otherwise restrict card access at any time where sanctions, compliance, fraud, regulatory, or risk concerns are identified.
  • To help you protect your prepaid card activations, enter your email address to enable one-time-password (OTP).
  • How it works:
    • By providing the recipient email, you ensure that only the specified email address can access the activation link for the card. This adds a crucial layer of protection against unauthorized access.
  • Important Notes:
    • Adding the recipient email is optional, but strongly recommended for enhanced security.
