1. Go to https://redeem.microsoft.com/, or open the redeem page inside your account at https://account.microsoft.com/billing/redeem
2. Sign in with the Microsoft account you use to play Minecraft. An active Microsoft account is required, so create one first if you don't have one
3. Enter or paste the code into the Code field, then select Next
4. Check the details of your gift and select Confirm. The full value of the card is added to your Microsoft account balance

Minecraft codes can also be entered on the Minecraft site: go to https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/redeem, type the code into the Redeem Code field, select Submit, and sign in to the Microsoft account you want to use.

Using the balance: sign in to your Microsoft account and pick the account balance as your payment option when buying in participating stores, including Microsoft Store online, Microsoft Store on Windows, and on Xbox. If the balance does not cover the whole purchase, pay the remainder with another payment method registered to the account.
