Starting July 8th, you’ll notice something a little different when you log into your Bitrefill account: your Bitrefill Balance is now called Store Credit.
Don’t worry. Nothing has changed about how your funds work. This is simply a wording update to make things clearer, more intuitive, and easier to understand, especially for global users.
Why We’re Making This Change
We know that terms like wallet, balance, or top-up can mean different things to different people. Especially in the crypto world, where language is often overloaded.
“Store Credit” more accurately reflects how this value works:
- It’s prepaid value you’ve added to your Bitrefill account
- It can be used to purchase gift cards, eSIMs, mobile top-ups, and more
- It cannot be withdrawn or transferred elsewhere
This change is all about clarity, especially for new users or customers in regions where the term “wallet” implies something else like a crypto address or custodial account.
What’s Changing
Old Term | New Term | Where You’ll See It |
---|---|---|
Bitrefill Balance | Store Credit | Account dashboard, checkout, receipts |
Top-up | Add Credit | Buttons and transaction screens |
Wallet / Cash Balance | Store Credit | Help Center, FAQs, and UI copy |
What’s Not Changing
- You can still add credit the same way as before
- You can still use Store Credit at checkout
- Refunds for canceled orders still go to your Store Credit
- Your existing balance is still valid and ready to use
No action is needed from you. It’s simply a new label that better describes what it is.
